Planning for Good Beer Week 2016

The Good Beer Week 2016 program has dropped and for beer geeks and lovers it truly is set to be ‘better than Xmas’.

The party starts at Beer Deluxe in Federation Square on 13 May and run through to 22 May at locations all across Melbourne. After scouring the program, I’m overwhelmed by the number of great beer events. Whatever beer bar you find yourself in for that week, you’re guaranteed to find some delightfully good beers.

Every week should be Good Beer Week

A whole week of good beer – what a brilliant idea! All the favourite craft beer drinking establishments were suddenly teeming with great craft beers, and it made me wonder why can’t every week be Good Beer Week? Well maybe because we’d all be eternally hungover, but still.

Best ‘Free Entry’ Events at Good Beer Week

Good Beer Week sees a range of exciting beer events taking place across Melbourne. And while I’d love to attend all the events, my bank account (or my partner) probably wouldn’t be all that happy with that, and I’m guessing I’m not alone in this regard.

So I’ve picked out the ‘free entry’ events for the frugal and selective, who may be interested in revelling in the festivities without dropping a whole lot of cash.

Of course nothing in life is free and while you’ll still have to pay for your beers but there’s no upfront purchase beforehand, you may be able to control your costs more – or not.

New Zealand Beers on Tap – The Local Taphouse May ’11 SpecTAPular

As part of the Good Beer Week festivities across Melbourne this week, there was another SpecTAPular at Australia’s ‘best beer bar in the land’ , The Local Taphouse. Pouring 20 different beers, from 20 different New Zealand brewers, this was another great day to get ‘paddled up’ and sample a few brews (or all of them).
